I cant believe that first year has already come to an end! It has gone incredibly quick! I never anticipated in the slightest that I would enjoy this year as much as I have done and I would like to share with you some of my favourite moments, from going out.
Of course it wouldn’t have been a proper first year at uni without all of the going out to clubs with your mates. As much as I have loved the course and have many highlights from it (which I will explain later), I have thoroughly enjoyed going out with my mates and having a good old dance in the clubs. I have also met a lot of my mates through going out so I am very grateful for this. Some of my favourite clubs to visit this year have been Rockcity, Ink and the SU.
I have also seen a few live music acts which I wasn’t expecting to see while at uni. I am a massive fan of drum and bass and bassline style music, and I was lucky enough to see Darkzy perform live at Rockcity, with a few of my course mates. I have loved Darkzys music now for a while and this was definitely one of the highlights of my first year! Rockcity was more packed than I had ever seen it and the atmosphere was incredible. I was with some of my best mates which made it even better, and it helped that Darkzy is actual from Nottingham so it was nice to see him performing in his home town!
Another one of my favourite nights out has been ocean nightclub! I love this night as it is where all the societies go out and dress up in different themes. You start the night early and go on a massive bar crawl around the city, and then head to Ocean. It is a funny night as they play lots of cheesy songs to sing a long to and no one takes the night too seriously which I love! It is also a great opportunity to meet new people in your society. I am a member of fashion society and I have met lots of people through this!
