Body Confident Brand- Isosceles Lingerie

As part of our summatuve brief this term , we had a list of brands to choose from to research, I chose the brand Isosceles Lingerie.  I had never heard of the brand before but after researching more into it, I thought that it deserved more recognition.

Isosceles lingerie is a lingerie brand which uses geometrical shapes and the layering of a sheer tulle fabric to create garments that encircle and enhance the bodies natural shape, whilst also creating a fun and playful product. Founded by Cicely Travers in London in 2015, Isosceles cares greatly about ethical manufacture, therefore all of their products are made and designed in the UK. Not only is the brand creating a colourful and stylish product for its consumer, but all of the fabric is also carefully chosen for comfort, quality and longevity. The brand focuses on women empowerment and body confidence and they celebrate every persons shape and size, using a variety of size models in their campaigns and over their website.

To me, the brand Isosceles Lingerie intrigues me, as not only is their brand about making women feel sexy, but they are also trying to overthrow the idea of the male gaze, and the idea that women wear nice underwear in order to look goof for men or their partner. Instead this brand celebrates the idea of women looking and feeling good purely for the comfort of themselves, and nobody else. . Not only do I love the story behind this brand and the message that it is sending across to women, but I also think that the shapes and colours that Cicely uses in her designs are something that I haven’t seen before in the lingerie market. Most high end lingerie companies nowadays use classic colours such as red and black to make their items sexy, but her use of colours and the message that she puts across is enough in itself to make a woman feel sexy.
