Have dating apps like Tinder killed modern day romance?

With technology and social media being such a huge thing these days, online dating apps have become a lot more popular.  Apps like Tinder and Bumble are very widely used by single people trying to find their new partner, or maybe just the odd date or two.  However, with online dating becoming so much bigger, this leads me to the question of; is modern day romance dead?

Having experienced the Tinder app myself, I know what a lot of the people on there can be like, for example many guys don’t want anything serious and use Tinder as a way to pull as many girls as they can, as quite frankly, it is that easy.  With just one swipe, you can be matched with someone you find attractive and quite easily get into conversation with them and even maybe take them out on a date.

However, this kind of kills the idea of traditional romance, as I feel as though it takes away from the true meaning of love and meeting your soulmate.  Tinder is quite often just full of small talk and people that won’t even get round to asking you on a date, so this makes me come to the conclusion that perhaps Tinder isn’t the best way to meet people, and it is best to stick to traditional methods such as meeting people when you’re out or even through mutual friends.
