The secret to a perfect glowing tan

Who doesn’t want to have a radiating golden tan all year round? The type of tan that makes you look a stone lighter and every outfit feel brand new. Unfortunately for most women across the UK we don’t have the luxury of glorious sunshine and free time to achieve that tan. Although there is a silver lining, fake tan.

This gift from the beauty gods is often abused, as you can see looking down any highstreets, with girls as orange as cheese puffs. Although with the right technique and product, it is possible to fool everyone into thinking you live in Spain!

The product is key. After over 3 years of experimenting with fake tan, I can safely say you don’t have to spend a fortune, it’s just about finding what works best for you. For me, I am a slave to the St Moritz in the colour ‘Dark’. It provides that gradual tan that’s not fake looking but also actually has an impact and for the price of £4.95, you can’t go wrong.

Another essential element to producing the best tan is prep. The day before you tan scrub your body in the bath or a hot shower with a flannel; this will remove any leftover tan or unwanted patches of dry skin. Then moisturise your elbows and knees to decrease dry skin.

The following night is the big occasion. Taking a tanning mitt, add generous pumps of the tan onto the mitt and wipe on your body with long continues wipes. Once your body is covered, place on a lose tee-shirt and wait 30 minutes before bed; if you can’t wait you can always blast your body with a hair dryer! In the morning the tan will have developed and you simply wash it off in the shower, leaving you with that sun kissed tan that will fool everyone!
